How truly exciting for you to get a doggie and go to Italy! My dream is to go to Reggio Emilia and see the amazing schools that are so inspiring to so many!
When I first started teaching, I was in a Grade 6 classroom and never had one thought about little learners. Then when they offered me a position in a Grade 1 classroom, I thought I would never recover! I had NO CLUE about these 5 and 6 years olds, but, thankfully I had wonderful mentors who patiently helped me grow in my understanding of the early years. I think we all took those child development courses in University, but, man, I had no clue.
Over the years of being with our youngest students, I have learned so much about the continuum of learning, the importance of the third teacher, and the joy in playing. So, dear Heidi, enjoy your time playing with all these new and exciting spaces and places. And take ALL the pictures and eat ALL the pasta!
So beautiful!!! I wish you were coming with me!!! Isn’t it funny how you can have no idea about something and then poof you find yourself in that world?! So grateful you went to first grade those many years ago Christine!! So grateful to know you!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
