Howdy, ho ho ho! How is everyone out there in the universe? Hope all is well in your world. Now, let’s get down to business, let’s talk about PLAY!
Here are this month’s writing and reflection prompts for you to think about and respond to as you are so moved!
What does play time look like in your classroom? School?
How much time do you dedicate towards free play?
How long does your class sustain play time with/without conflict?
What does outdoor play look like at your school during this time of year?
What is their current “hot game” to play? What is the current “play story” they are telling?
How do you differentiate spaces or times for quiet play and more boisterous play?
How do you communicate to parents/caregivers the importance of play?
Hoping this December brings you peace, love and joy. Looking forward to reconnecting with new prompts in the New Year!
Blessings and Peace to All,
Heidi
Thank you for the prompts. If nothing else they have me reflect on what I see and how I see it. Looking closely with an open mind. Wishing all great winter holidays!
This month, our dear Kinderchat friend and fearless leader, Heidi, gifted me with a virtual advent calendar of Paris. This thoughtful gift has prompted me to PLAY every day this month!
This beautiful calendar is filled with toys, puzzles, presents, and fun. It has reminded me so much of the joyful learning playing gives us. All of us. Not just the tiny people in our lives.
So, with this mindset in place, I am going to recommend we all take a moment in this very busy time of year to look around and open our eyes to all the ways we can all be playfully engaged with conversations, books, music, movement (yes, dancing is playing), customs, and food.
I wish you all the very best of this blessed season.
Christine
